Brilliant, from my first consultation and all the way through my treatment. Mr Carrothers listened and answered all questions with plain easy to understand language. Nothing was too much trouble. He was always positive, cheerful, caring and able to put me at ease. Thank you so very much.

Me Carrothers replaced my right hip for me on March 8th. (I had my left hip replaced in 2010, so I have some experience of the operation and rehab.) Straightaway, the next day, I could feel it was going to be a success, when I found I could walk easily with a crutch. I felt confident. Most remarkable was the almost total lack of pain. I have been doing all my expertises and have progressed well, apart from some remaining weakness in my inner thigh muscles, which I am working on. Apart from his excellent surgical skill, Mr Carrothers is commendable for his ability to listen, answer questions and allay his patient’s anxiety. He is approachable and humorous, and, most important, was caring enough to chat to me on the phone when I needed reassurance a couple of times.

I have just had my 6 week check up following my second hip replacement, and I am pain free and walking without crutches or a stick. I consider I am so fortunate to have had an excellent surgeon, and the team at Cambridge Lea Hospital, as an NHS patient. Many thanks to everybody.

From my first meeting with Mr Carrothers I was put at ease and felt totally safe in his explanation of my hip condition. I agreed to have my hip replacement done privately and I have to say that the standard of care that I received is second to none. Mr Carrothers has put together a great team and you know you are in safe hands. I may need my other hip replacing in the near future and hope that Mr Carrothers will be able to perform the operation at Addenbrookes on the NHS as I will not be able to go private next time. Nothing but praise for this man and his team.

Mr Carrothers did the Harrington Plus precedure almost 2 years ago. I have nothing but praise for his work. From the outset he put me at ease. It was an operation that no one else had offered me. I have Multiple Myeloma with lots of back factures as well as the hip/pelvis problems. From first seeing me (on national health) he looked at my e-rays & said he could help me. My wife & I almost skipped out of clinic that day as he gave me hope. Within two weeks I was in Addenbrookes having a Harrington Plus. With Covid havent seen him too much, however had an face to face appointment yesterday. Hip/pelvis all healed up with no pain in that area. I have nothing but admiration for him & extremely grateful for his hard work.
